Dr. Yi Zheng is Professor and Director of Experimental Hematology and Cancer Biology, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Research Foundation.  His lab uses patient samples and transgenic mouse models to study the physiological and pathological roles of Ras/Rho GTPases and their regulators in hematopoiesis, neurogenesis, lung cancer development and small intestinal stem cell regulations, and determines the molecular details involving the cascades of protein-protein interactions of the Ras/Rho GTPase signaling network. From such mechanism based studies, they pursue rational design of small molecule inhibitors targeting the Rho GTPase signaling modules and apply the lead inhibitors to pathologies in cancer and blood diseases.
